I'm new to this forum and to scenario paintball all together. What is this forum about? And how does someone register early for an event? I've read the rules about scenario paintballing already, but I'm still like, "Whoah?" So, anyone mind to help? And I'll still probably have more questions later.

First off, let me ask this, how much do you know about Paintball?
Have you played Rec Ball?, Tournament? Do you know what a scenario game is?
We can start with finding out what you know, then people will start jumping in to answer your questions. It depends on what all you want to know about Scenario Paintball.

I've played a total of twice, but I know my markers and equipment. I play recball, speedball and the other one you could loosely call woodsball. I've been Youtubing paintball videos, and I found scenario. I get the general concept, but I'm still like, "What?" But ya. So I know my stuff, but I would like to know some details about scenario. I guess if you can just walk me through how a scenario game would go, that would be helpful.

Ok, here's the basics of a scenario game.
Scenario games can be modeled off of a movie, a book, historical event or just some made up fantasy. We write a story line based on that for everyone to read.
Then the game has 2 sides to compete against each other. You have a general (leader) and they usually have a few role players (people that help play the character parts). Games can last usually 8 hours all the way up to 26 hours long. Each side has missions that they have to complete to get points. (Go take and hold this area, or go to this area and recover a prop to the game) It's mission completions that get you points and who ever has the most points at the end of the game wins.
Then you have people that like to do what we call role play. They will dress like the characters in the story line and play and act like that particular person or thing. by doing this, they help to make the game seem more like a real life video game rather than just playing paintball.
This should give you an idea of what a scenario is, is there some thing more specific you would like to know?

And what about if I get tagged? How long do I have to wait to get back in? And where can I play scenario games in Houston? I know about the pirate game at Paintball Zone. Is that the closest one around here?

If you get tagged then you return to your starting point. There is usually an insertion window that opens after a short wait, people usually will go get more paint and air and get a drink during this time, then you go back on the field for more play. There is at least 1 insertion period of 10 minutes in every half hour of play, sometimes more.
The Pirate game at Paintball Zone is the closest game that I know of coming up. Most of the people that will be there also attend games in Marshall, Texas produced by Viper Scenarios (those are most always 26 hour games. They also attend games out in Harwood, Texas that are usually anywhere from 8 hour to 24 hour games. But the pirate game is the closest and the earliest that I know of.
Also, Pirates at the end of May would be a great starting game for you. It's 8 hours, and part of the game will be instructions on how Scenarios are played, we have a significant part of our games geared towards 1st time scenario players..... If you go, ask for the Game Director Darkman when you get there and he will give or either get you more instructions on game day.

Awesome. Sounds good. I'll see if I can get a ride up there, but I'm not too sure. And I think that's about it. Thanks. But I may come back here if I have more questions.

So what make a good jersey and pants? I have an invert limited 09 jersey and some jt pants that I got from a friend for ten bucks. I think I look pretty slick! But still, what makes a good jersey and pants? My friend said something about being able to slide really good in the pants...

It sounds like you got a pretty good deal on the package from a friend. Sliding is some what part of the game, as there will be bunkers, trees and other items to get behind or either into to duck away from the paint being shot at you. Also there might be times when you will want to crawl around in the woods or on the ground. Make sure you wear what is comfortable to you though. Scenario paintball is not about style or looks, unless you want to get into the role playing aspect of the game, but what you have is a great start for your first game.

Well, the pants were only ten bucks. If the whole package was that cheap I would've bought the pants that actually go with my jersey, lol. The jersey was fifty bucks. So I'm pretty sure I have all my gear. I have a pod belt, jersey, pants, hopper, tank, and I'm about to get a new mask and a new feedneck, maybe a hose clamp for temporary use. Anything missing?

Make sure you get a Camel Pack you need to hydrate out on the field and people forget to do it when they are in the middle of so much excitement. Camel Pack allows you to drink without removing your mask....

That's a good one about the camel pack. I wouldn't have thought about that one, thanks.
